CSRM part of exciting international cooperation
Tuesday 21 February 2017

The ANU and the University of British Columbia (UBC) have signed a statement of cooperation.  CSRM will be the ANU’s methods focused research Centre in this agreement.

The objective of the cooperation is to strengthen the relationship between the two Institutions and encourage collaboration between the ANU, including the Social Research Centre, and UBC in the area of Child Development Monitoring and the creation of a population level child development monitoring system.

Through collaborative research activities, this intiative will support the use of population monitoring tools developed at UBC such as The Middle Childhood Development Instrument, The Childhood Experiences Questionnaire, the Toddler Development Instrument and the Youth Development Instrument.

In conjunction with the Social Research Centre, this agreement will provide the opportunity for an exchange of visiting scholars, faculty and post-doctoral fellows to support a human development program of research built upon the use of the population data captured.

Ultimately, this will lead to joint conferences, meetings and seminars and the preparation and publication of joint research papers using comparative data gathered in Canada and Australia.

A seminar orchestrated by the CSRM in conjunction with this agreement will be held on the 14th March 2017.

The intention of the collaboration is to build a creative and emerging program of research that has the potential to expand and deepen. The CSRM and the ANU looks forward to other areas of cooperation that may emerge through this agreement with UBC.
