Abstract

What follows explains the analysis and documents the results of research into the financial consequences of physical violence perpetrated against Australian women in domestic partnerships. We seek to address the question: what are the financial implications for women who experience partner violence (PV)? The analysis uses data from the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) panel, which has about 19,000 observations surveyed annually since 2001.
