Qualification:

Sean Lyons is a PhD candidate at the Australian National University. His research focuses on the intersection of digital archiving in Australia and machine learning. Before joining the Australian National University, Sean worked as an artificial intelligence (AI) consultant. He developed and delivered AI driven solutions to save millions of dollars and solve business problems across Australia. Sean holds master degrees from the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney. He has previously researched human-computer interactions and the applications of AI to improve our understanding of Renaissance literature. He has also collaborated with academic peers on digital projects, such as the Pico Project (Brown University), the Darwin Correspondence Project (Cambridge University), and most recently the Ferdinand von Mueller Project at the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria (RBGV). Sean is also a subject matter expert in machine learning for cloud infrastructure providers. He contributes to the AI cloud infrastructure examination standards used to assess machine learning engineers.
